It works well for rice, but don’t try to cook oatmeal with this thing, despite the fact that it has a “Porridge” setting. Oatmeal goo will start bubbling out of the top and then you will spend a long time trying to clean up because oatmeal paste will have oozed into every nook and cranny of the cooker lid. You will not be able to take off the hinged top to clean it.
