First I would like to say that this does require two USB ports utilizing the cable the comes with the unit.

It will not function properly if at all with a standard USB cable.

It requires the cable that came with it that splits to two USB connectors.

Failure to do so will cause extra erratic behavior, at least on my PC.

Interesting it thinks the splitter cable is a USB hub and installs additional drivers.

The touchscreen usually doesn’t work.

It takes a couple reboots before it works.

If you disconnect the unit when running and reconnect, you might as well reboot.

If you don’t reboot, expect erratic behavior.

MS’s picture viewer doesn’t seem to work half the time on this display.

Also, simple small movies do not seem to work at all either.

This also causes problems with my Spyder screen calibrator tossing errors on boot and not letting the Spyder software run.

Yes, I have the latest Spyder software as well.

My PC crashes on a regular basis since the drivers were installed.

Yes, I downloaded the latest as I rarely believe in using a usually outdated driver CD that gets included.

Since I have Amazon prime, I was able to get this next day for $4.

Unfortunate that was a waste of money as well.

It’s unfortunate this doesn’t work well as I wanted it to work well.

It’s one of those cool have to have gadget’s, but in my case I needed something like this as well…

The only thing good about it that it came in a pretty box. I ordered it and saw there were few left so I ordered one more for my little sister. Once I got the first one I loaded music on it. The more music you put on it , the slower it gets. It runs verry slow. The toutch screen is bad, it will hardly work with out a toutch pen. It is cheap made, you get what you pay for. My second one has not come in yet but i wish i did not order it now. I probally will give it away to some one, I do not reccomend this to ANYONE.

This is a great camera for the price, especially with the built-in compass and GPS capability. I have no complaint with the camera itself except for the microphone placement which is located where one naturally places fingers to hold the camera.

My complaint is with the lousy documentation. You really have to dig in order to learn how to use the GPS information recorded with each image or movie. I own cameras from Sony’s major competitors, Nikon and Canon, and both companies provide user manuals that are far superior.

I was considering buying this camera for a niece who will by biking through a some fantastic Colorado scenery this summer but I’m having second thoughts now because Sony has made the learning curve so steep for a digital camera novice.

It’s a shame that such a fine instrument is sold with such deplorable documentation.

Fist: lane assist is not available everywhere, as a matter of fact it did not work anywhere where I’ve tried.

Navigation itself is weird. One example: it tells you to turn left on highway when it actually means to stay on highway and not to take an exit.

Extras like unit converter will tell you how many millimeters there is in one centimeter, but converting between inches and millimeters is just too much to ask.

I’m not spending any more time discovering this “high tech” disappointment and I’m returning it.

I have a 10 megapixel SLR (major brand) but wanted a small camera to carry in my pocket, that was inexpensive, and would produce satisfying images. I took a chance on this one and am astounded at the quality of the images it produces. It’s not quite as capable as a full scale DSLR and has the annnoying shutter lag of this type of camera, but it’s quick in good light. It’s harder to hold steady than a DSLR but that’s just because of the smallness of it. The battery seems to hold up well and is easy to recharge. I like it!

With 10.2 MP and a powerful optical zoom, it’s easy to capture every detail. And you won’t have to worry about flawed photos. It comes with a slew of tools to beautify those not-so-perfect shots. The SAMSUNG Perfect Portrait System includes beauty shot that automatically retouches facial imperfections and the Smart Auto feature. It automatically selects the scene mode ideal for the environment you’re shooting in. Capture all of your special moments with a camera that helps you create stunning photos. Samsung’s perfect portrait system includes beauty shot, face detection, self-portrait, smile shot, blink detection, and red-eye fix – everything you need to create beautiful photos effortlessly. For example, beauty shot automatically retouches imperfections on your subject’s face. And taking self-shots are easy with the self-portrait feature. The camera lets you know if the face is detected in the center of the image so you get the whole picture. With a 5x optical zoom, you’ll get up close and personal with every subject. Plus, a slim, stylish design makes the mounted inner zoom lens easier to use and carry. A special coating on both sides of the lenses prevents false color and distortion while delivering outstanding picture quality. Take the best photos possible, with the Smart Auto feature. It automatically selects one of 11 scene modes that best suit the environment you’re shooting in. For example, it automatically sets the camera to landscape scene mode if you’re taking an image of a mountain range, and then switches gears and automatically selects the portrait scene mode if you proceed to take an image of an individual. Shooting Programs Landscape, portrait mode, night mode, text, close-up, back light, beach/snow, self-portrait, children, fireworks, dawn/dusk, sunset, beauty shot Special Effects Soft, Cool, Negative, Black & White, Sepia, Neutral, Vivid, Calm, Forest Maximum Shutter Speed 1/2000 sec / M. read more.
